Yet further delays

Wednesday, December 14, 2005 by Dawn B
Hello friends and family,
I'm afraid we've gotten word of yet more delay in the "match" process. Current estimate is that we may be matched with our daughter in February or March, which would mean traveling in April or even May to China.
We don't really know why the delay has increased. Perhaps it means there are many more families waiting to adopt (that would be our hope). They are continuing to process dossiers though, so we just need to wait.
We appreciate so much your prayers and support. It's difficult since we have put so much of our life on hold, turning down many oppportunities at the beginning of the year so that we could be free and ready for the China trip. Now it looks like other plans will have to be changed.
Please pray for an extra measure of grace. We know, at one level, that God is not surprised by the delay and that He knows exactly when the child he has planned for us will be ready. But it's rather difficult to wait, I think most especially at Christmas time.

Update on Timing

Thursday, December 01, 2005 by Dawn B
Hello friends,
Well, the pace of processing at the China adoption agency has slowed and slowed and slowed. When we sent our paper work to China the wait time from paperwork to match was 6 months, then it was 6-7, then 7 . . .well you get the idea. Now our wait has grown to 8-9 months. This means we might hear about our daughter in January, but just as likely in February. This would give us a travel date to China in March or April. Sigh. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement. We are trying to trust that this is all in God's timing.
