Hello friends and family,
I'm afraid we've gotten word of yet more delay in the "match" process. Current estimate is that we may be matched with our daughter in February or March, which would mean traveling in April or even May to China.
We don't really know why the delay has increased. Perhaps it means there are many more families waiting to adopt (that would be our hope). They are continuing to process dossiers though, so we just need to wait.
We appreciate so much your prayers and support. It's difficult since we have put so much of our life on hold, turning down many oppportunities at the beginning of the year so that we could be free and ready for the China trip. Now it looks like other plans will have to be changed.
Please pray for an extra measure of grace. We know, at one level, that God is not surprised by the delay and that He knows exactly when the child he has planned for us will be ready. But it's rather difficult to wait, I think most especially at Christmas time.

(Waiting, though, it must be said, is certainly part of that whole Advent preparation thing.)
So any news lately? We're thinking about and praying for you. When we did our New Year's day family rehearsal of the year's "consolation and desolation" we all named our time with you as one of the brightest of the year. Here's hoping and praying this year's visit will be to see your precious new one.
