Sept 9-10--A Busy Weekend

Monday, September 11, 2006 by Dawn B
It was a busy weekend for the Burnetts. First on Saturday, we got ready to go out to the Sidewalk Arts Fest downtown. Very fun time with many artists, crafters, and political persuaders of every persuasion.
Here is Althea in her very artsy outfit, ready to head downtown. Althea is sporting the latest in cropped nostalgia jackets, combined with a simple white peasant top and sporty leggings that just say "Watch out world--I'm walking soon!"

She was also very excited to be given Baba's old wallet to play with, but in preparation for the Sidewalk Arts Sale was staggered to find it empty (?!?). Thankfully, her folks came through to buy her a few new bibs.

Sorry no pics from downtown. It was SO COLD I don't think my fingers could have worked the camera. In true South Dakota style, Sidewalk Arts Fest is always either heat-stroke hot or earlobe-frosting cold. This year, we went for the latter.

The next day was our Rally Day at church: "Revvin' up for fall!" Althea sees no reason to be quiet in church (after all, her parents aren't!). So she and Mama spent most of the service out in the gathering space.

Here she is with some friends from church:
Mr. Curt and Elsa (a good friend with great taste in shoes!) and Mr. Duane.

But finally, after so much excitement, it's good to just be able to crash on Mama.
Ahhhh . . .
